I think most parents feel like their kids just don't listen sometimes, or just aren't cooperative. It gets frustrating really quickly when you find yourself repeating the same thing over and over again. This book shows some simple skills and techniques that help you to communicate better with your kids. The results can be dramatic: better communication, better cooperation, and a lot less stress all around.
This book is considered to be a classic (as far as I can tell). But I have to admit, I haven't read any parenting books since Penelope Leach's Your Baby and Child. I'd love to hear about any other recommendations you might have.
