I hadn't seen the raccoons for a few weeks, and was beginning to think they'd found a more attractive back yard and just weren't coming back. But this evening, taking the garbage out - there they were. It looks like it's the four young ones I saw before, but this time without the mother. So four, undeniably cute, juvenile delinquent raccoons with no fear of humans. Sigh... I tried to be frightening and scare them away, but these guys are almost certainly going to grow up thinking of people as a food source - just like their parents.

I've had raccoons enter my cottage, find peanut butter - they unscrewed the cap, pawed at it and then walked out leaving a trail of buttery footprints...
Seems like there's a new group every spring... these are the smallest I've seen. They're fearless, too - they'd have come into the house if I let them...
